Pubs For Pia - 2025

Inspired by Pia Eaves, we are undertaking a new challenge! This time, we will be walking 150 miles across the South Wales coast (27th August-7th September), fundraising to raise more money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

What?

We are walking 150 miles along the South Wales border, to honour Pia's life and raise money for pancreatic cancer.  The walk is taking place across stunning countryside and beaches in South Wales. This area means a lot to Pia and Simon as they grew up and went to university along places on the route. They also spent a lot of time in a number of the pubs that we will be stopping at!

Why?

Raising more awareness and funds for research into early detection and improving treatment for a dreadful disease.

The 'Walk for Pia' was 3 years ago, and we raised £165,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Our aim is to keep fundraising for a cause that means a lot to all of us.

And to make Pia proud of her family and friends in the process.

When?

27th August - 7th September 2025.

Llansteffan to Barry Island in 12 days.

All welcome to join the core group of walkers at any time along the journey.

Targeting to raise over £10,000.

All About Pia

Pancreatic cancer

We are walking to raise money for pancreatic cancer, a cancer that has the worst survival rates in all 20 most common cancers.

Pia Eaves, a healthy fitness instructor lost her battle to this disease at the age of 54. We are walking so that we can limit the number of other families that have to go through it.

SOUTH WALES

We wanted to do another fundraiser to honour our Pia and keep her memory alive, whilst also completing something challenging to raise as much money as we can.

This time, we are walking 150 miles. The difference this time round is that we will finish every day at specific pubs on route, and a number of them are very special to Pia and Simon.

South Wales is where Pia and Simon grew up, met and went to university, so it is a very special place to our family and it seems fit to take on our next event here.

We will be finishing the walk in Barry Island again, and for those of you who followed the 'Walk for Pia', you will know that Pia was brought up there and her family owned the kiosk throughout her teenage years.

Pia Eaves
Beloved mum, wife, sister and friend

All donations to this cause will go to PanCan UK, a charity that with enough funding could have saved Pia.

Where do we even begin describing Pia. She had an unbelievable zest for life. She was a passionate, hilarious, intelligent, beautiful and extraordinary woman who never took herself too seriously. There was not one person who met Pia who had a bad word to say about her.

Pia was quite the jet setter, having travelled to some incredible places and living in them too. Her family relocated to Dubai in 2003 where Pia began her fitness journey. She quickly fell in love with it and became a personal trainer and fitness instructor - it was perfect for her, she got to meet lots of new people and exercise whilst doing it! The family returned to the UK in 2014 where she continued her love for fitness and life.

She was so close to her family - having been in love with Simon, her husband since the age of 16. They brought up 2 daughters, Rhiannon and Emilia. We were an unstoppable force, a unit that was unbreakable and so so close. Pia was definitely the social butterfly that kept us all living our most amazing and privileged life.

Pia was taken from us far too soon, and the world will forever be a darker place without her bright smile and cackle of a laugh guiding us through. She was one in a trillion and devastation at her loss doesn't even describe the pain.

By the time we begin this walk, Pia will be gone for nearly 4 years, with the anniversary of her death taking place on the 8th of September (the day after we finish), and although a lot of time has passed, we all think about her and miss her every single day. The fact we have had 4 years without her beautiful smile, her childish sense of humour and her bright presence is absolutely heartbreaking. We are doing this for our mum, wife and friend, whose absence is felt more deeply every day that passes.

Pia meant the absolute world to us. She brightened up any dark day that any of us were having and always managed to make us laugh with her child-like and hilarious sense of humour. She inspired us, and still does, to be the best versions of ourselves and although she is not here, we know she will be looking down on us every step of the way.
